"We believe that Hampstead is looking for more diversity in the food sector," Adam Woo told Port City Daily in early September, "and we believe we can add on a different variety of food that Hampstead locals can look forward to having." He and his father, Sang Woo, both live in Hampstead. They have now opened a restaurant there too, and they chose Oyster Creek Landing. The center sits off US-17.
Delamar's developer describes the community as minutes from US-17 and about five minutes from groceries and shopping. That makes the US-17 corridor the place to watch for changes in where to eat. This fall, most of that change happened at one center. Oyster Creek Landing has a coffee counter, a burger grille, a tavern, a Hawaiian treat shop, and as of September, sushi and Korean barbecue. Meanwhile the NC 210 side of town is between chapters.
Seoul Sushi Opens on Shuckin Street
Seoul Sushi and Korean BBQ officially opened on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 44 Shuckin St. in Oyster Creek Landing, according to the StarNews restaurant roundup published Oct. 3. The business started as a food truck and has a stall in the Cargo West food court in Wilmington. Hampstead is its second brick-and-mortar location.
The menu brings the dishes that built the truck's following to Pender County: sushi rolls, bibimbap bowls and Korean-style wings. Sang Woo described the goal in a release: "We want people to come in, relax, and enjoy something really special, whether that's a sushi roll or Korean BBQ with friends."
What matters here is the address as much as the menu. Seoul Sushi now shares a center with several other food businesses, and together they make Oyster Creek Landing a place you can eat at more than once in the same day.
What One Center Off US-17 Now Covers
Oyster Creek Landing is a mixed-use center with shops and restaurants on the ground floor and offices upstairs. WilmingtonBiz identified it as a Double Dimension LLC project, led by managing partner Louis Dworsky, and reported that a news release called it the company's first project in Hampstead. In its September story on Seoul Sushi, Port City Daily listed the center's tenants as P.T.'s Olde Fashioned Grille, Tiny'z Tavern, Bubba & Finn's and Drift Coffee, among others.
Put in order from morning to evening, the lineup covers a full day:
- Drift Coffee. When Port City Daily covered Drift's expansion plans in 2025, it described the Hampstead store as a quick-service coffee and kitchen concept. The planned menu included coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches and veggie burritos.
- P.T.'s Olde Fashioned Grille. A burger and sandwich grille. Its own site highlights fresh-cut fries, lemonade and beer. StarNews singled out the fries and the patio when it covered the Hampstead opening in 2024.
- Bubba & Finn's. StarNews described it in 2024 as a Hawaiian treat shop serving Dole Whip, shaved ice, Kona coffee and loco moco, with lunch plates in the works at the time.
- Seoul Sushi and Korean BBQ. The newest arrival, open since Sept. 8, with sushi, bibimbap and wings.
- Tiny'z Tavern. Listed among the center's tenants in the September 2026 coverage.
The menu details for Drift, P.T.'s and Bubba & Finn's come from coverage published when each business arrived. Current hours and menus are best checked with each business directly. Still, the overall picture holds. Coffee in the morning, a burger at lunch, something cold in the afternoon and sushi or Korean barbecue at dinner can all come from the same parking lot. Seoul Sushi gave the center its first sit-down Asian menu, the variety Adam Woo said the town was looking for.
The NC 210 Side Lost a Noodle House, for Now
The same StarNews roundup that announced Seoul Sushi's opening also reported a change a few miles away. VK PHO, the Vietnamese noodle house at 2761 NC 210, is closed. According to a sign on the door, the space is transitioning to new ownership.
That wording matters. A sale to new owners is different from a business shutting down, and the sign doesn't say whether the new owners will keep the pho menu, change it, or rename the place. Until they announce their plans, the address stays on the watch list.
So this fall, Hampstead's newest Asian menu sits on the US-17 side while the NC 210 side waits to hear what replaces its noodle house. A third restaurant could change that picture again.
The Thai Opening Still Ahead
In March, StarNews reported that the family behind several Wilmington restaurants planned a new Asian restaurant in Hampstead called Thai Zen. A StarNews photo gallery published with the story said it should open by the end of 2026.
As of early October, no public report confirms that Thai Zen has opened. The StarNews coverage names Hampstead as the location but gives no street address or shopping center. That leaves less than three months for the end-of-year target, and its location will decide whether Hampstead's Asian options stay concentrated on US-17 or spread back out.
A Coffee Option With No Storefront
One more fall arrival doesn't fit any single address. Cuban Coffee Co. is a mobile espresso and matcha bar serving the Hampstead area, with pickup and regular hours at Raise the Bar Therapy Services. StarNews lists the Dulce de Leche Latte, cinnamon rolls and Cuban pastries on the menu. Because the business is mobile, the most reliable way to find it is to follow its posted schedule.

Timing Trips on NC 210 Through Early November
One practical note for weekday trips. Crews started work on NC 210 near US-17 on July 20, tied to construction of a new Pender County K-8 school. The project widens the road and adds turn lanes and a drainage pipe. NCDOT's notice lists intermittent lane closures Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the work expected to finish in early November, weather permitting. No newer update on that schedule has been published, so early November is still the latest estimate.
For a weekday lunch that depends on that stretch of NC 210, Fridays and evenings fall outside the posted closure window. Trips to Oyster Creek Landing that stay on US-17 avoid the work zone entirely.
If you own in Delamar or nearby and spend part of the year away, a new restaurant cluster is one of the details renters and future buyers will ask about. Matthew Berglund keeps track of what's opening, closing and changing hands along US-17 and NC 210. Schedule a local market and project consultation to talk about how those changes fit your plans for your property.
